Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Bite ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and the operator of Bite.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Bite. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Health Disclaimer

Bite is not a medical service.

  • The AI coaching features, workout plans, and nutrition guidance provided by Bite are for informational and fitness purposes only.
  • Nothing in the App constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new exercise or nutrition program, especially if you have a pre-existing medical condition.
  • You use the App at your own risk. We are not liable for any injury, illness, or health condition arising from use of the App.

4. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
  • You may not share your account with others or create accounts for third parties.
  • One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limitations is prohibited.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

5.1 Free Tier

Bite offers a free tier with limited features including basic workout logging and limited AI insights.

5.2 Paid Subscriptions

Bite offers one paid subscription tier, Bite Coach, billed monthly, annually, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.

Eligible new subscribers receive a 14-day free trial. Trials are subject to App Store or Google Play eligibility rules; users who have previously used a trial for the same subscription are not eligible.

5.3 Billing

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

5.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period, except where required by law.

5.5 Free Trial

If you subscribe during a free trial period, you will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

5.6 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the App
  • Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or violates any third-party rights
  • Share, sell, or transfer your account to another person
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription gating or access premium features without a valid subscription
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure

7. AI-Generated Content

The App uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI) to generate coaching insights, workout recommendations, and nutritional analysis. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation.
  • You should apply your own judgment and consult professionals before acting on AI recommendations.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of food nutritional data derived from photo or text analysis.
  • AI content is generated automatically and does not represent the opinion of a qualified fitness professional or dietitian.

8. User Content

When you log workouts, meals, or messages in the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your data. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

Community rules. If you use Social, your profile, posts, photos, and comments can be seen by other users. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post or send hate speech, slurs, harassment, threats, sexual content, nudity, or content that promotes violence or self-harm, and do not impersonate others or spam. Bite blocks some language automatically. You can report any profile, post, comment, or shared program, and block any user. We review reports, normally within 24 hours, and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules without notice.

9. Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including the design, code, graphics, exercise library, and AI coaching logic, is owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the App without our written permission.

10. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including OpenAI, RevenueCat, Supabase, and Apple HealthKit. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

11. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time through the App settings. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

If you are an EU consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory protections under the laws of your country of residence.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
